Can AI read handwriting?
AI can identify visible features of handwriting (slant, baseline, pressure, size, spacing) with reasonable accuracy from a photo. The underlying claim of graphology (that those features predict personality) is not supported by peer-reviewed evidence. AI handwriting reads should be treated as entertainment, not assessment.
Optical character recognition (OCR) and handwriting analysis software can identify and measure features like slant angle, baseline direction, stroke pressure, letter size, and word spacing. The technical capability is real and improves yearly.
Graphology, the system that interprets those features for personality traits, is a different question. Modern psychology has tested specific graphology claims and has generally found weak or inconsistent results. The field is sometimes classified as pseudoscience for that reason.
